When it comes to managing thyroid health, not all exercises are created equal. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a popular workout for boosting fitness and burning calories, but I’m sorry ladies, if you’re dealing with thyroid imbalances it’s time to leave the HIIT workouts behind. 

Here’s why you might want to reconsider your weekly HIIT classes:

1. Increased Stress Levels: HIIT workouts, with their intense bursts of exercise, can elevate cortisol levels. For those with thyroid issues, high cortisol levels can exacerbate symptoms and disrupt the delicate balance of thyroid hormones. Managing stress is crucial for maintaining a healthy thyroid, so opting for gentler forms of exercise might be more beneficial.

2. Potential for Overtraining: HIIT can be demanding on the body, increasing the risk of overtraining. Overtraining can lead to fatigue, hormonal imbalances, and worsened thyroid function. It’s important to listen to your body and avoid pushing yourself too hard, especially if you’re already dealing with thyroid challenges.
